Let it Snow!

Well, if anyone has noticed, Spring officially arrived March 20th. We were blessed with a wonderful winter full of crisp white snow, days for sledding, and lots of hot chocolate after playing in the snow.
However, Spring arrived with its thawing winds, warmer temperatures, melted snow and ice, and grass and leftover leaves proudly showing my lack of yard care last Autumn.
Until last Friday, March 21st, when we had 8-12 inches of new snow drop out of the sky. Jordan and I spent Saturday morning making snowballs and tossing them at each other and building a snow fort under the playset. Perfect snow for packing!

Sunday it was almost gone again. Easter arrived wet and drippy. Well, that was all right with us because we are ready for Spring -- riding bikes, going to the park, and running outside on the trails again. Yesterday the snow was all melted with the exception of the piles plowed at the end of the parking lots.
So we went for our first bike ride of the year! I ran while the kids rode the bikes and we did about 3.5 miles. It felt good! We didn't even need a sweatshirt. Gorgeous day a balmy 62 degrees and sunny!

I just walked past the window and it looks like December! It is snowing the biggest most fluffly looking snowflakes you could imagine. It is not snowing lightly, it is a beautiful heavy blanket of snow falling from the heavens. As much as I am ready for Spring to truly arrive... I love the snow! I cannot help myself as I walk around humming... Let it snow, let it snow, let it SNOW!

Better YOU than ME! :) We've had a number of sunny days in a row and it's got me itching for beach-combing, mushroom hunting, fishing, camping and bike riding. Of course, the lawn is still under about 2 feet of snow... but I know that Spring is on it's way! :)
Love ya,
~Leah~
