Brokenhearted: overcome by grief or despair; People who feel their spiritual bankruptcy and helplessness, and who long for the help and salvation of God. Such people are in the right condition to be met and blessed by God. Compare "of contrite spirit" (Ps 31:18; Isa 66:2).

The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Ps. 51:17

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit. Ps. 34:18

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Ps. 147:3

Our Hope in Christ:

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners; Is. 61:1 & Luke 4:18

A journey begins with just one step and the same is true in my journey of faith. It begins with one small step of faith followed by another. And another...

Tomorrow I fly to Spokane, WA and will stay with my dear brother and family for two nights before flying back to Chicago. I am taking a step of faith that is the start of yet another faith journey. There is a sense of excitement and also a feeling of great responsibility as the understanding of what lies ahead is still not clear but I am stepping out in faith trusting my Lord to lead me step-by-step. Makes me think of Rich Mullins' song 'Sometimes By Step.'

April is here and there is so much that I am grateful for as God guides us into this new month. Yesterday my radiator went out. Praise God for His care for us because His timing is perfect and we were able to get it fixed without major incident or hassle. Any other time or place could have been a major inconvenience and costly expense -- He worked it out perfectly for our good. The initial irritation was quickly replaced with awe at His love for me. Forgive me Lord for all my doubts and fears.
